My name is Barry van der Hulst, a game designer based in Enschede, The Netherlands.
I create games across both tabletop and digital platforms, driven by a passion for creative design and engaging gameplay.
Bast-Games builds on my years of experience in tabletop game development, including earlier titles such as Linkeballen and Tour de France, developed under HulstGames.
Alongside my experience in game design, I work professionally as an Application Manager and Functional Manager, with a broad technical background in DevOps, C# software development, networking, infrastructure, and security. Over the years, I have worked across complex application and web environments, CI/CD pipelines, network infrastructure, and technologies such as GitLab, Jenkins, and Kubernetes.
I am also applying this technical experience to Unity and modern game development, continuously expanding my skills in game technology and real-time development.
Bast-Games is my independent venture as a game designer, focused on creating modern and engaging gaming experiences for a global audience.
I believe great games should remain enjoyable long after the first playthrough. Variation, well-designed mechanics, and meaningful decisions create replayability and ensure that no two playthroughs feel exactly the same.
From the first concept to the finished game, every detail matters.
